ACIGNA - Assyrian Christian Good News Agency - No More Negative News1, ACIGNNA - Assyrian Christian International Good News Agency! Are you tired of the daily dose of "bad news" for Assyrian Christians all the time? Get excited! Here is just some of the "good news" and progress this week to encourage you and give you information to pray! Happy reading and praying - victory is ours! I. Thank You! Thank you for your kind prayers. God opened the doors this week because you prayed! 1. Hakim Thank you for your kind prayers! The Lord answered! We were able to meet with the Shia leader Abdul-Aziz al-Hakim, twice and speak strongly to him regarding the Assyrian Christians and the Assyrian Province. "the Assyrian Christians, are our brothers and Iraq is their country. We support them for whatever they need." he said in two conversations, one in which a copy of The Formal Request For an Assyrian Province was given to him. 2. Baker Comission Two meetings with James Baker - one in which co-chair, Lee Hamilton joined in elicited strong support for The Assyrian Province with Baker saying "We did our best to put in our report support for the Assyrian Christians, but the idea of an Assyrian Province is a great idea. We are behind it. Let us know what we can do." 3. Congress A series of meetings with congressmen to gather support for The Congressional Resolution to Support The Assyrian Province. Sen. Sam Brownback expressed his strong support for the project as well as Barak Obama in two separate meetings. Sen. Hillary Clinton, in two separate meetings, Sen. Lindsay Graham, Sen. Carl Levin, Sen. John Thune, Sen. James Inhofe, Sen. Joseph Lieberman in addition expressed their support and each we are working with each office to have them co-sponsor the resolution and join the Assyrian Christian Caucus. 4. Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction Inspector General Stuart Bowen is one of the strongest supporters we have in Washington. 'Get me the details on the progress of the Formal Request and the current needs of the Assyrian Christians and we wil do all we can to help' he said in a second meeting. 5. USAID Meetings with five top officials at USAID, including Deputy Assistant Director for Asia and Near East and Director of the Office of Iraqi Reconstruction included a promise to review all projects in the Assyrian Province area and matching them with actual accomplishments on the ground. A very interesting discovery - the Director was born in Iraq of Missionary Parents and knows well the Assyrians. "Get us the situation on te ground and current needs and we will do all we can to fix what needs to be fixed and expand our help where needed. We can really use the Assyrians as eyes and ears on the ground. In addion we will assign our local staff to give this top priority." *****This is living PROOF Ken is selling us again to the West, and they will FINISH US this time! 6. State Department Meetings with the "Iraq Desk" carefully explaining The Formal Request for an Assyrian Province and demanding their support. II. You!
