..it was inevitable and started right away...most radical shifts bring a backwash of old timers who want things to stay the same, with their beliefs and prejudices still in command. ...these latest discriminatory laws will go the same way as the other attempts to explain or cloak homophobia in religious freedom rhetoric. ..it's entertaining when you hear homophobes give all their "reasons" for hating Gays...especially the claim that their religious liberty gives them the religious right to discriminate....they seem to make sense, when talking to reporters or to a crowd, because no one challenges them. ...in California when the Prop 8 battle was raging, and being won by homophobes in the eyes of their own kind...but, when the battle went to court the homophobes couldn't put a single witness for their side on the stand, because now they were in a court of law and not on the streets or on FOX. ..these things are decided in courts of law, not on the streets, and in courts there are rules of EVIDENCE...that word the religious love to demean...if they had their way evidence would never enter into court, it would just be a case about "my feelings were hurt"...no proof necessary, just your hurt feelings and, case closed. ..anti-Gays are going to have to show proof that they are being discriminated against by Gay marriage...and "discriminate" has a legal definition, in court, and not the religious definition of "I don't like this". ...no one is being forced to go against his or her religious beliefs UNLESS those beliefs lead to actual discrimination...no one has right to discriminate...and Gays don;t discriminate against those who hate them. ..it will be settled in court where these people and their hastily passed laws will be made to look foolish. --------------------- |
