Just heard a delightful story on the BBC about how the Guaranay (one of about 200 native groups) in Brazil have maintained their culture through a mixture of folkloric song and dance which actually retells stories about the Guaranay history and culture. It's just that simple... It's amazing how some cultures embrace their own extinction while others actively prevent it with enjoyable acts such as song, dance, and oral tradition. --------------------- |
