Hated, hounded, persecuted and murdered for over 1000 years by Christians...right up to a free decades ago when the accumulated rage of Christians broke over their heads in Europe wiping out millions and costing them treasure, homes, businesses and almost everything that constitutes culture.

Faced with the prospect of moving back in with the same neighbors who´d either turned them in, murdered them or stood idly by, in fear most often, or because they were glad to see them go, Jews understandably flet leery....after all, if such an unspeakable act had occured in what was one of the best countries in Europe...how could they ever be sure that it wouldn´t happen again?

The Jews of Europe were offered Africa and Latin America to settle but those countries too were overwhelmingly Christian so there could be no promise of security there either. As harsh and unpleasant as it must have been to contemplate Haifa as a home, after Berlin, Vienna, Rome and Budapest, the Jews felt that at the least they would be in their own, Jewish, country...and if ever again they had to face extermination at the hands of Christians, at least they would fight and die among their own, in their ancient homeland...makes perfect sense.

But Isarel would be a European colony, something not popular at the time...and while other colonies could be honestly resisted, there was always the spectre of anti-semitism or holocaust-denying if anyone dared question the right of Europeans to oust an indigenous population of Arabs, plus which, the European Jews came to the Arab world filled with the same chauvinism and racism common to Europe at the time, indeed out of which the Final Solution had been crafted...so they were not the ideal people to settle in as equals.

Their only hope was to drive the indigenous population out...by direct attacks and later by harrassment, persecution, discrimination, massacre and economic blockade...all of it inteneded to discourage Palestinians, forcing them to move out, making more room for more Jews. There really couldn´t be any equal sharing if Jews were to dominate.

Added to that the fact that Israeli brith rates would drop well below the Arab population so that in time an Israeli state would come to have more Arabs than Jews....and that forced the government to hustle Jews in from around the world...not very popular either.

But making all of this worse was the fact that in arms sales to the Isarelis American corporations discovered a gold mine...the only thing being that a constant state of war would have to be maintained....this was not in the interest of the Jewish people but the profiteers among them and their American counterparts...hence the constant agitation by the Israelis, the ridiculous charade of peace talks etc.

We in America are beginning to see how important money is...I mean much more than we ever thought before...how crazed the pursuit of it has become and also how limited are the means to make great gobs of it in the future, hence banks no longer care to make their money the long slow way but prefer to play casino capitalism...in the last few decades immense wealth has been "created" by stripping the middle class...there are fewer and fewer ways of making big bucks left, besides making war...making the tools of war and selling them and having them used up...and for that a constant state of war, of threats and actions is vitally necessary.

Isarel is a cash cow...period. The danger is that little by little people are allowing themselves the luxury of hating Jews all over again...only this time they feel they have an actual, concrete reason, I mean "just LOOK at what they´re doing"...for the first time human rights organizations are blasting Israel, as are respected Israelis...while this may seem like a good thing, long overdue, what I fear is that a whole now wave of anti-semitism, with a legitimate cover this time, is going to grow and spread around the world...and Christians KNOW this and secretly WANT it...of this I am sure.

And, just as sad, is the fact that Muslims and Jews got along far better and for longer than ever did Christians and Jews...or Christians and Christians for that matter...and that a stellar record of Islamic tolerance (compared with Christian tolerance)is being misrepresented and tarnished, not by Muslims but by what Christians are doing to Muslims Jewish relations.

Every slander and libel hurled with impunity against Muslims was only a few decades ago being levelled at Jews...every one. Today of course you cannot make these statements against Jews, your "freedom of speech" will not proect you from THIS kind of speech...but you can make them against Islam..in fact you almost have to, if you are to prove yourself a real patriot...just as the German people had to years ago to show THEY were loyal...it´s the same madness...people think that because the victim has changed, the behavior isn´t as obnoxious or potentially dangerous...after all, Hitler and the Christian Church turned out to be the real worst enemies of the German people...certainly not the Jews...and the same will play out in our case...Bush, Obama and the neo-con patriots will prove to be our worst enemies...far worse than any Muslim ever was...they have already dismantled great portions of our Civil Liberties under the guise of "perpetual attack"...this argument is ALWAYS used to rob and disenfranchise us...and we dummies buy it every time!
