I break into your house and start strangling you, hands around your throat, choking the life out of you demanding to know where your hidden treasure is. As my fingers tighten around your throat I tell you democracy is the best way to live and you should try it which, I hasten to add, will only be possible if you hand over your treasure so I let you live…otherwise; what good will democracy be to you…or your treasure?

I break into your house and start strangling you, choking you to death all the while telling you about the benefits of democracy and how you really should try it and if you don’t I could well kill you. As my fingers tighten around your throat I ask you where your hidden treasure is and say if you want to live to enjoy your treasure you’d better adopt democracy in a hurry before it’s too late because the dead can’t benefit from democracy or treasure.

To display my faith and sincerity I wear a cross around my neck each time. Which thief is the true Christian?
