...what a bunch of cutthroats! I mean the Christians.

Any of us who've seen that silly list Peter Bet-Boohoo compiled of the number of "innocent" Christians killed, just because they were Christian....probably didn't realize that they were killed because they were FIGHTING against Muslims who'd never done a thing to them...or, had sided with the Mongols against the Muslims, and who got just what they deserved for being traitors and collaborators.

An interesting point: one Mongol ruler finally opted to become a Muslim,,,,but he didn't force any of his followers to join him. This is most noteworthy because it is exactly the opposite of how people were "converted" to Christianity...many times the king became a Christian first(usually from some selfish motive or as a result of promised wealth from the Church, or marriage which brought lands and power) and ALWAYS forced his subjects to join as well...

In the case of the Mongol ruler, he would regret not forcing his people to convert with him because a band of Christian captives were able to turn their guards against the king by playing to their own Mongol religious pride...these guards eventually turned on their king and killed him....had they been converted at the same time nothing like that would have happened.

The Christians went specifically to murder Muslims...how can anyone fault Muslims for killing as many Christians as they could, in defense of their lands, homes, families and religion?
