Assyrian as One of the official languaes of Iraq

Just spoke to some former Zowaa members in atra and they said that Khalis Esho was responsible for establishing the Assyrian language as an official language in Iraq, and not Yonadam Kanna. Anyone have information on this gentelman? Would like to know more about him. They're saying he's working very deligently for the rights of the Christians in Iraq. Glad to hear this, but want to get more information on him. Hope I'm spelling his name correctly.

...Christians ALWAYS had rights in Iraq! Do we really have to point out that when they were being chased out of Hakkari and Urmia for betraying their fellows to the British it was Iraq that took them in! Had they "hated Christians" they simply could have refused. It wasn't Iraqis who started the trouble, it was MarShimun and his tribe whop insisted the British had "promised" them their own assyria, ripped out of IRAQ! When they realized they were getting no special treatment, they raided Syria and when that didn't work, came back across carrying their guns and getting into a shootout with the Iraqi army which had enough of these "assyrians"... actually, it was mistake taking traitors into their country...as they would soon learn when the ungrateful refugees went to work, AGAIN, for the Brits as Levies...a colonial police force meant to save Britain money...where they killed several Iraqis, for pay, earning them Semele and the lasting suspicion of Iraq......fast-forward to the 70s and again they begin talking about how Iraq and Arabs USURPED "their" country" and were an illegal government, which is sedition and punishable in any country on earth, and in time war, is called treason.

Iraq never had a problem recognizing our peculiar beliefs...they just refused to share them or honor our ditzy claim that we were the "indigenous" people of THEIR country!

Christians have had churches there since the earliest days...they have practiced their religion and had good lives...no Muslim country came to Iraq raining down bombs on Christians homes and destroying churches..it was the Christian countries of the West who did that.

So, enough with "they recognize us"....they ALWAYS and always recognized that enough of you were fools and traitors to ruin it for the rest...what they always REFUSED to recognize is your ridiculous claim that you, and only you Christians, own the country.

It isn't Iraq that has recognized reality...maybe this time, the few remaining assyrians will be left alone by YOU, so they can live in peace in Iraq, not Turlock.
