So you are saying that you accept people who are not Christian as Assyrians? Because that is not something Pancho has made up but it is something I heard many times before and it still floats around heavily. But if you do accept it, then you are an exception and disregard the message. But, keep in mind that this is common among many of our people so let's not blame Pancho or others. I know some other Assyrians who are Muslims and I know many more who are agnostics, some atheists and I even met a couple who claimed to follow the ancient Assyrian religion, I don't if they really did or not, but they claimed so. So, if you accept others, there is no problem then. If you do not, then you are one of those who think "Assyrians" have to be Christians. But it's not me or Pancho who made this up. Personally, I don't think no one is actually more passionate about being Assyrian than brother Pancho. We don't mean purer Assyrian by genetics, but by actions, passion, heart and commitment. Last but not least, I know there are Iraqis who proudly claim Assyrian/Babylonians as their ancastors both Christians and Muslims so it really ain't up to me or you to exclude people from it. And yes, Assyrian Christians are Iraqi too, I only was seperating them just to make a clearer understanding, but Iraq is for all Iraqis and not just for Kurdistan or Shiites. Peace be with you. --------------------- |
