A national or political name is not a biological entity…there is no genetic marker for “Republican” or “Boy Scout”. The hype about DNA proving anything along these lines is ridiculous and has more than likely never been made by anyone even barely knowledgeable in the field.

There is definitely a marker for skin color or hair color…as well as for nose...but not for BIG ASSYRIAN nose and not for ethnicity. Not unless an ethnic group, such as the Aborigenes of Australia, before the white man intruded and who’d been virtually cut off from mixing with other people, might have evolved a biological characteristic, a mutation, over centuries that might be found in their DNA and their’s alone…but there’s no evidence that acquired traits become embedded in DNA…it’s a fun idea…but hardly science.

Besides which, where do we get an original Assyrian bit of tissue from? This isn’t “Assyrian Park”, where a mummified mosquito will yield a drop of Assyrian blood from which scientists could extract genetic material to see if the mosquito had died right after biting an Assyrian’s arse in 2000 B.C..and then go on recreate that hairy arse too. And if you’re going to present, as “Assyrian”, someone who lived On Assyria…that is even sillier…for that is exactly what we want to prove…that the person on the land is the same as the one under it.

On top of all of this, BetNahrain was not an island in the middle of the ocean…it was the crossroads and destination too of countless people…it was called a “cradle of civilization” and not a “prison of one” for a reason. How on earth would any scientist extract Babylonian genes from Assyrian DNA?...or Hurrian or Hittite or Amorite or Greek or Persian or Arab, who were themselves mixtures of who knows how many people lost to history?…we were a mixture then and we’re more of a mixture now…except now sheer lunacy seems to have entered our genes.
