True Assyrian Thanksgiving celebration “Baouta d’Ninevaye or the Rogation of Ninevites”. This celebration is very important Assyrian tradition which must be noted for its historic, nationalistic, and spiritual significance and it is repeated every year at the end of three day fasting by most Assyrians worldwide. Assyrians from Illinois are very proud to take part and accommodate a church mass and celebration of breaking the fast with traditional & historical Assyrian meal “Harrisa” on the morning of Thursday, January 17th, 2008 at Assyrian Saint George Church “Mar Gewargis Sahda”, a member of the Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East and on behalf of all Five ACOE Illinois parishes. Thereafter, the celebration continues again at AAA - Assyrian American Association “Shotapota” in the evening with Assyrian; “Harrisa”, DJ Music, and Dancing. Please note, observe, fast, attend, and celebrate this very dear, historical, and great Assyrian event. Thanks… --------------------- |
