...one of the most attractive groups on earth, men and women....

...many assyrians would disagree with your assessment...many assyrians believe that contact with Armeneans, especially in Turkey led to their being viewed with the same hostility as were the Armenians who, unlike the assyrians, took an active part in actions against the Turkish government.

..but that's the trouble with going by what you "hear"...fortunately scholars do more than pick up on rumors and gossip, and they take a different view. For instance, in all the complaining about what the Turks did, have any of you wondered about what the Christians did to the Turks? I don't mean only the acts of sedition and treason committed by Christians inside Turkey, but what the Christian nations who dragged Turkey into that war did...and what they stole...and how many Turks died from starvation and exposure...all because Western Christian nations wanted that petroleum they are STILL killing Muslims for?

The Sultan never trusted the Germans, any more than he did the Brits, French and Americans...but what was he to do when faced by a coalition of the most powerful Christian nations on earth who made no secret of their desire to kill "the sick old man of Europe"? So, he unwillingly accepted German offers of "help", in the hopes Germany could beat off the other Christians, probably realizing full well that if that happened he would then be faced with German demands...so either way, the Turks were screwed and were going to be more screwed by whichever Christian side won.

No one talks of all the Turks suffered and lost, except historians, real ones....the rest is just propaganda and rumor and grandmothers.
