US Marine Drill Instructors Stuff Muslim Recruit in Dryer 15 September, 2016 Two intoxicated drill instructors victimized a Muslim recruit because of his faith and stuffed him inside an industrial clothes dryer, investigators said. A pair of drunk Marine Corps drill instructors stuffed a Muslim recruit inside an industrial clothes dryer while it was running, an investigation by the U.S. Marine Corps revealed. RELATED: US Marines Threaten Gay Community with Gun Violence According to the report, the unidentified recruit was ordered out of bed in the middle of the night by two "intoxicated drill instructors," who ordered him to do push-ups and crunches in the showers while being doused with cold water. The recruit was then allegedly ordered to get inside a clothes dryer and a drill instructor told him "the Marine Corps pays me to weed out spies,” The young man who suffered severe burns in the back and neck, was also reportedly asked if he was “part of 9/11,” the document said. WATCH: Iran Releases U.S. Marines After Washington Apologies The case came to light as part of an ongoing investigation into the death of another Muslim recruit, 20-year-old Raheel Siddiqui, who committed suicide allegedly due to constant harassment by one of his drill sergeants. RELATED: US Military Ends Ban on Transgender Service Members Siddiqui had previously told officials he had been subjected to humiliating hazing at the Parris Island boot camp in South Carolina because of his Islamic faith. The same drill instructor who Siddiqui accused was also one of the instructors identified by investigators in the second attack involving the clothes dryer. The Marine Corps announced last week that some 20 drill instructors at the South Carolina base will face administrative and criminal charges in connection with Siddiqui's death.
