The US is said to be supporting the French in fighting against Islamist terrorists in Mali. If this is not hypocritical then I don't know what is. The American people, as foolish as they are, don't even know what just went on. This same country, along with France and UK, three imperialist nations, are backing Islamic militants in Syria and supported the one in Libya. On the contrary, America or France or England does not care Islamic government or secular comes to power as long it does not step out of line. The Shah and Mubarak were secular dictators yet were supported by the US. You have the regime in Saudi Arabia, which the US also supports. So this isn't so much about fighting Islamic militants who want sharia law in Mali or wherever but more about fighting someone who is not friendly to the corporations. This is why the US spends billions training militaries around the world to make sure the "bad" guys don't come to power. As long as a leader or group is open to the big corporations and does what a good employee does, he can do what he wants to his own people.

The US media sits there with a straight face saying the French are protecting democracy in Mali and fighting religious extremists when Nato is supporting Al Qaeda in Syria and Libya. This is bullshit but Americans are too stupid to think or know otherwise.
