"What is crucial however is that we do not bypass what Jesus taught in the fuller and more complete revelation of the New Testament. We are Sermon-on-the-Mount'' Christians." ...I love Christian "philosophy"...or "intellectuals"...the very notion of such a thing is a contradiction in terms...you cannot be either and be a Christian...or of many religions...certainly not of the three main ones. Blind belief and a desire to live on clouds forever sort of disqualifies one. ...it is true the the New Testament is "different"...but only because it gives us a more detailed history of only ONE of the many victims of this bloody and insane tribal god...found on a dunghill in the desert. ..there were, no doubt, many wonderful people among the hundreds and thousands that yahwe had put to death in the Old Testament...many of them children who had to pay for their parent's "sins" and never even got the chance to sin on their own...even he "that pisseth against a wall". ...In the story of Jesus we find just how far this insane god would go...though he'd "played" at having other children butchered by their fathers...in the New Testament he finally gets his way by having his OWN son tortured and murdered...the story of Jesus is the chance to see just how innocent an Inoocent could be...before his throat was slit for the glory of god and the service of humanity. ..it is the story of a sacrificial victim...being groomed for human sacrifice...and you always select the purest, sweetest and best animal, or human, to sacrifice, in order to please your Muwhump. Something the Hebrews, among other savages, regulalry indulged in...symbolically loading their sins and crimes onto it's unoffending enck before killing it and feeling a whole lot better. ..this, among other good reasons, is why the Christian religion, as brought to the world by the Romans, continues to be the bloodiest scourge the world has ever seen. --------------------- |
