...he dropped out due to a bad "performance" in the first two debates.

So it all comes down to how you perform, which in the case of debates means how good of a game you talk....there is something hollow in the use of that word to describe how we choose presidents...the "most powerful man in the world", we are told.....

If performance meant what a person ACTUALLY does...say like a good performance as a championship athlete...or a good performance as a surgeon, it would be fine.

But we know politicians sling bullshit...we know they say anything and everything heading to an election....we know the spin, distort, lie and take positions they don't believe just to "perform" well....so what does it mean when a candidate doesn't perform well?...it means he didn't trick us well.
