Why is it that Assyrians, particularly nationalistic ones, are so impenetrably fervent and resistant to change? Do they honestly think their idealism, and explicit proclamation of their imbecilic, outlandish nationalistic beliefs will result in any progressive social change whatsoever? No, of course not. So I could only assume that because they've been deprived of everything else, their religion and the nationalism is all they have left. So they march out in the streets protesting, in hopes of being recognized by White, over-privileged Westerners. Thinking they'll give a sliver, of a modicum, of a subatomic particle of a fuck about some aberrant, invisible Middle Eastern minority in some random corner of the Earth. The reality is, nobody cares, NO ONE. Your situation to them is, in essence, inconsequential. As long they're not directly affected by it, they could care less. You're not going to drastically alter how power views itself. They're values, ideas, desires, etc., will always take precedence over yours. Social evolution is not an immutable, linear process of constant social improvement. Sometimes change happens for the worst, and you're only beguiling yourself if you believe otherwise. This is something you're going to have come to terms with sooner or later. As far as I am concerned, the Assyrians have two options. 1. Acculturate yourself to the society and culture you live in. 2. Emigrate to another country and assimilate there. Either way, you're going to disappear. Whether you want to or not. If you can't adapt to your circumstances, then you can't survive in this world. Oh, and accrediting yourself with accomplishments and inventions you weren't involved in isn't going to help you either. --------------------- |
