I read that a good part of the American Revolution was in response to Britain's move to create a Bank of England for the colonies...that the colonies had been doing just fine printing their own money...which was one of Ben Franklin's first printing jobs....Americans didn;t want any such super-bank which would eventually make all of them its slaves....but after the Revolution such a bank was eventually favored by none other than Alexander Hamilton and the reason he gave, in private, was that a cabal of wealthy men were threatening to buy up all gold and paper money and then starve the new Republic....he gave in to their demand for just such a bank because the country was new and could easily be crippled....off and on Americans fought the idea of a central bank owned by private billionaires for obvious reasons, that sooner or later everyone would owe everything to those banks....and the day has come.

There can be no reform of any meaningful kind, not even Socialism, so long as nations must first go into debt to private banks before they can get, or print, money. It's got to be the biggest scam ever invented and it's crippling the world.
