...there is silence at Maggie's...until today when a friend of her's named Dandy (appropriately enough) strolled by to say hi and say he missed her...and then she replied(which shows you, since she DID reply, that she could have carried on her "war" with the enemies of assyria, instead she writes...

...bless Dandy and bless the dog too, and you have to wonder just what kind of a "tour of duty" a guy who signs himself DANDY was on...now, it's one thing for us to joke around because jokes and facts and real books are our weapons...with which we've destroyed the warriors of assyria long long ago....a joke from us is the same, or should be, as a shot from one of Maggie's Maggots, aimed at a Turk, Qurd or Arab...you know their ENEMIES! But they joke...and they talk...and they make plans and have been doing this for years without a SINGLE shot at anybody...or even a conversation with the three big enemies of assyria...hell, Two-Star General Beth-Shlimon can't even SPELL OUT the name of one of his enemies, the _ _ _ _ s. You think he's ever going to shoot at them?

..you should tailor your weapons to your enemy...no need to squash a bug with a broadsword...with assyrian nationalists you don;t need guns or arrows...and you'd think they could withstand sticks and stones, except it turns out that mere words send them reeling.....and making more plans.

...we only need jokes, a few books and a good sense of humor to rout the assyrian army....whereas if Maggie, the Maggots and their General are serious about THEIR enemies, they must know jokes won't do...not even plans and actions and discussions will do.....for such terrible enemies that make assyria quake these guys need serious weapons, not jokes.....but, then again, it isn't that they TELL jokes so much as they ARE a joke.
