...this is still inadequate because it doesn´t make a distinction between government sponsored or mandated genocide and mere mob action...but still, the operative word is "deliberate AND systematic"...something a mob, by very definition, can´t be.

..what is also interesting is the etymology of the word...this dictionary lists it as 1940-45. This would be the very period of the worst such action in recorded history, the genocide of Jews by Christians. This notion, this concept, did not exist at the time the Turks stand accused...why? If we are to go back in history and re-name things genocide that were not conceived as such at the time it seems to me we, meaning Christians, reveal what hand we´re really playing..that is, having come to the grim realization that Christians committed the crime that gave birth to this word, to this concept, and only Christians, there has been a mad rush to redefine anything else that comes close...to sort of "spread the guilt around"...this is especially true where Islam is concerned...Christians want very much to "normalize" genocide as in "everybody does it and has done it, so stop pointing the finger at us alone".

Christians have much to apologize for and they´ve decided one of the best ways to do it is accuse everyone else of being "just the same", for the bad stuff, while still holding themselves beyond reproach on the good stuff.
