...it's funny; religious folk can see evidence of a white-bearded man, yes MAN, creating everything 4000 years ago, and only 4000 years ago....but they need more proof that the polar ice caps are melting onto their heads...."we need more evidence"...they say. The reason they won;t accept scientific evidence is because it is scientific....meaning it isn't yet obvious enough to the common eye, but takes some intelligence and rational thought to reach a positive conclusion. They fear science because science demands facts and evidence or at the least probable cause...what it doesn't require (and shuns) is blind faith, which is the cornerstone of religion. For them to admit the science of climate change, without first being drowned in the melting ice caps, would mean they accept logic and deduction and, oh yes, LEARNING...by which we don;t mean a degree in Theology. And if they accept Reason, they know damn well they open the door to ridicule of their religious beliefs and, more than that, what they allow themselves to do because of their beliefs. They know damn well humans are affecting climate...as they knew cigarettes cause cancer and a hundred thousand other things they are forced to deny because such common sense intelligence is at odds with their belief that the sun stood still when Joshua farted. Their religion compels them to be stupid, or at least demand "more proof". Odd that while they take the fairy tales of 2000 years ago "on faith"...they refuse to believe in climate change...for THAT they need 100% guarantees and evidence....not for Jesus walking on wine, or turning pigs into weddings...but for climate change. All of a sudden they have NO faith! --------------------- |
