allegory

Main Entry: al·le·go·ry
Pronunciation: \ˈa-lə-ˌgȯr-ē\
Function: noun

Inflected Form(s): plural al·le·go·ries
Etymology: Middle English allegorie, from Latin allegoria, from Greek allēgoria, from allēgorein to speak figuratively, from allos other + -ēgorein to speak publicly, from agora assembly — more at else, agora
Date: 14th century

1: the expression by means of symbolic fictional figures and actions of truths or generalizations about human existence; also : an instance (as in a story or painting) of such expression.

,,,how is eating human flesh an allegory? For what? Being "reborn" clearly indicates something other than crawling back into the womb...that's just plain silly.

...but eating human flesh is something Hebrews actually did...as the bible shows. The ritual of the scapegoat is an allegory for Jesus...as is the idea of the sacrifical lamb...but cannibalism? What's it supposed to symbollize? Should we teach young men symbollic rape? Why not? Probably because it's a crime and it isn't a good idea to teach crimes, for any reason. Crawling back into the womb isn't a crime...it's a ridiculous impossibility, which is not the case with eating human flesh, which is something a person can ACTUALLY do...and many have done, and it is a CRIME. Why pick crimes for religious allegories?

2: a symbolic representation :

..again Jesus makes it clear and the church backed him up and still does, that he meant REAL flesh...those are his words, not mine.
