transitive verb

1: to cut up or alter radically so as to make imperfect <the child mutilated the book with his scissors>

2: to cut off or permanently destroy a limb or essential part of : cripple

circumcision is childhood mutilation, plain and simple.

The child is born "perfect" in that the foreskin is a part of Nature's plan, not an "accident" or mistake...the child is born perfect and then mutilated by agents of ancient desert gods....or by doctors either out for the money or badly misinformed about such things or completely lacking in initiative or humanity.
