...is the difference between professional and amateur, between scholarship and propaganda between hobby and profession.... Once upon a time there were no degrees or even courses offered in Assyrian History...because people knew very little about that history...what was in the bible wasn't enough or reliable enough to grant an actual degree in, unless it as part of a degree in Theology. Then great discoveries were made and scholars, in closely-related fields, took an interest and developed a whole new course study...but they were trained and educated scholars in OTHER fields who brought the same expertise and discipline to this new field...they were not propagandists out to MAKE a point. One reason such fields of academic study are called "disciplines" is because they TEACH discipline, they INSIST on discipline, as a verb. No legitimate historian of the American Civil War only studies the South, with a "specialty" in "How Lincoln Betrayed the Constitution"...just doesn't happen. To be accepted as a legitimate historian or academic you must study ALL sides of an issue or event, and not the one side that "just happens" to also please you the most....that's why Joseph manages to bring to the discussion all the OTHER aspects that Gaunt and Baaba and the jaas never mention...they are looking for what suits THEM...Joseph, not only isn't doing that, but he managed to get his own people AGAINST him by telling unpleasant truhts, like Galileo, Bruno and so many others whose pursuit of the truth, in the face of organized hostility, led to severe personal consequences.... Same with Gorgias Press...this is NOT a Publisher...the "experts" they claim to have available to them are all engineers etc., the usual suspects...they are NOT recognized academics in THIS field, or in any....that's not how Princeton University Press or Brill Publishers operate....there is no amount of money you can PAY Princeton or Brill to "print" your book...if your manuscript has merit and gets vetted properly, they will pay YOU. Why has not a single one of these flakes been able to write a real book, with all these "references" the JAAS has printed and get a real publisher interested? If "it is known..." then why doesn't a single publishing house know it and want to publish it? How come Jospeh managed to find just such a publisher, in fact two of them, while all these Gaunts and Baabas and Thracians have not? Why? --------------------- |
