There are at most ten members, at most, to any given nationalist group. Margpie can’t even get five people to vote on whether or not they want a Parliament in Exile…each forum has maybe fifty people reading, max….except of course for this one where they all read because their own forums are such a fucking bore…at least here they’ll see something out of the ordinary…the rest of the stuff they can recite in their sleep…and do. Point is there is no “movement” there is no groundswell…there aren’t the numbers to set up a baseball league let alone seize a country. What’s curious is that at the beginning of any great call to arms, such as Margpie recently issued in which she was going to tax every household and someone else was going to create an army and another person was going to map out a constitution….about five people responded…they did so with what you could call enthusiasm, mostly because it takes very little to type an enthusiastic reply. The odd thing is that in response to these early commitments Margpie answered with, “email me in private”….meaning they’ll continue this supposedly hot discussion off the forum. Which is meant to leave the rest of us thinking that they’re going to discuss great and sensitive plans which they don’t want “enemies” overhearing.,…you know, just like you did when you had secret decoder rings as a kid and watched for “spies” down the block. She spells out the agenda on the forum, accepts her fist recruits in public…but for the rest of it they go private. I don’t really think any Kurds or Arabs are lurking in the shadows in “fear” of what Margpie might start. I think they get off the forum so the rest of us might believe wonderful and provocative things are being discussed privately, way too sensitive to allow any but the secret members to share, and maybe, just maybe, we’ll want to join the gang and play along too. The other benefit is that we are left to assume, because we want to believe such things, that a whole lot of stuff is burning up the wires with all these activists sending plans and ultimatums and blueprints and setting appointments etc…all in the service of “Assyria”….when they’re just playing and want to tease the rest of us into joining the game or feeling left out. Silly kids. --------------------- |
