I stumbled into Fred A Aprim's site.....or maybe just one of them, the guy is SO prolific....I liked the title..."Assyrian News Management"....now I know what Aprim thought he was saying, but in modern English usage to "manage" the news is not exactly something you want to brag about...you should just "report" the news...managing news is what FOX does...come to think of it, it fits both of them. ...and then there's this, bless their pointy heads...assyrians love to say that knowing the English language is not necessary when you're talking from the heart...or arse. But sometimes spelling can screw you up, especially when you could easily have double-checked...as in, "The First Turning Point In October of 1999, Nineveh Online (NOL) decided to discontinue its text chat service. There was a huge gab to be filled and a great legacy to be continued." ...I'm sure they meant to say "gap"...."There was a huge GAP to be filled. the word "gab" means to talk, sort of endlessly and without having much of importance to say.....amen to that. ...yes, a great legacy of gabbing....indeed. --------------------- |
