....saw on the teevee a show, one of thousands, about sharks. Guy in a big boat watches a Great White circling his boat "ominously" and says how amazing it is that he is that close to this "awesome, destructive force".....when the reality is that it's the shark that's dangerously close to the most fearful predator this planet has ever known....humans.

...the shark is about as awesome as the butcher slaughtering a cow to make lunch meat for kindergartners. Typical of humans; THEY are the marauding monsters who kill for pleasure...the shark is merely feeding and if you want to settle on his dish, whose fault is it? But the shark is the threat, not the human with his boats and sonar and spear-gun and dynamite and nets and poison and technology who's given himself license to kill when he wants to....it's the shark who's just doing what it needs to survive.

...white humans have the same reaction to Darkies, to Iraqis and Arabs and you-name-it. THEY are the dangerous ones, circling too close to and interfering with innocent people going about their business and treating THEM as if they were the danger, when it is the white Christian who's the greatest menace the world and its peoples and animals and sharks has ever known.
