...the contention that the few remaining Akkadian-speaking Assyrians had an "ossified" religion and presence and therefore could not withstand the "influx" of Greeks, Persians, Arabs and all the others whose star was still rising while that of Nineveh was falling or had finally crashed sounds right....makes much more sense than the notion that a new assyrian "aristocracy" rose up and was powerful again, as Odishoo falsley claims. ..this rings true today when you consider what happens when assyrians move to Western, or any other countries, whose cultures and economies are more advanced....you know the outcome because our parents never stop warning us NOT to forget "our ways" which meant not forgetting our language, like the ancient Assyrians forgot theirs...and, though AINA and every jackass we have likes to say that our heritage and language are in DANGER in Iraq and among Muslims, it is in the WEST, in America and Europe and Australia where the real danger lies...in Iraq ALL our people read, write and speak our language...it is not in Baghdad or Mosul where our heritage is in danger, but in New York, London, Chicago, Los Angeles and so forth...it is among CHRISTIANS in the West, where we run EAGER to "fit in" and "get ahead" that our younger generations lose interest in the language and the heritage...it's only been about 150 years since the first assyrian came to America....is our heritage going strong? No...is our language spoken by our young children? No. Will it eventually die out? Yes. So much for DANGER from Islam! Today we still have an "ossified" culture, a rag-tage shambles of a "heritage"...even worse than it was in the centuries after the fall of Nineveh...and how are we doing? Where is out "new aristocracy"? Who, the doctors and engineers? Is Aprim an aristocrat? In our own lifetime we have EXPERIENCED what Roux is talking about...we see, right before our eyes, that our young people cannot "withstand" the onrush of western civilization and American/European ways...we SEE it...we experience it, directly...have we been able to do anything about it? Of course not...we have no schools, no libraries, no cultural centers that aren't bingo parlors and our churches teach lies to young children....do we see any signs that our culture is GROWING? Spreading out...coming on STRONG? Or do we see a lot of our kids named Jennifer, and Shania and Scott and Jim? Modern history has proven Roux to be right and an honest reading of Haggarisn proves Odishoo to be a liar, and Shlimon as well....and it was just as true back when these new assyrian jerks are claiming different...we are EXPERIENCING the further and continued decline, in the West...only in Muslim lands has our heritage had a chance to survive...history proves it! --------------------- |
