...the Australian assyrian fellow who took umbrage with Maggie for slandering Australia, as well as Turks, spoke about how migrants should be grateful and be law-abiding etc. Here again we are handed the material to expose the hypocrisy of these nationalists.

...from all that they have claimed abut Iraqi mis-treatment of assyrians, massacres, denial of "rights" etc. you would think that the assyrians living in Iraq before 1914 were the same ones making these claims after 1918...that it was the assyrians who were long-time residents of Iraq who had insisted all along that they wanted their own nayshun, or wanted it now.

..but that isn´t true at all...such thoughts, such demands were never made by Iraqi assyrians and chaldeans, and not because President Wilson had yet to mention nationalism. It was the assyrian MIGRANTS who started this bullshit....it was the assyrians who ran for their lives from Turkey and Iran, which they had betrayed by taking money and guns to fight for the Allies...it was these migrants and their families running, not from Muslim "persecution" but from the results of their own folly, who were welcomed into Iraq, given citizenship and allowed to rebuild their lives.

It was these, for the most part grateful, MIGRANTS who began yelling and shouting that Britian had promised them (it never did) a part of IRAQ! Much like later the UN would give the Israelis a part of Palestine. It was foreign migrants who caused all the trouble that earned the innocent Semele...Iraq WELCOMED them...as Australia welcomed assyrian migrants... I guess in Australia you MUST show gratitude and respect for laws and customs, but in Iraq, when you migrate from Turley or Iraq, you MUST show the opposite...if you are a true assyrian.

See what I mean? Their own words hang them every time...that´s the real reason they were furious with us...because we pointed out the obvious and on their own they have never recognized the obvious, obviously.
