I hear it a lot from our "Assyrian Nationalists" how they try to compare themselves to the Jews and their struggle in history. Now some even go as far as saying that these "Assyrians" need learn from the Zionists and take over and create a homeland. First, even if they tried, they would never be able to achieve what Jews have achieved in their history. Jews have produced great scientists, politicians, bankers, noble peace prize winners, and much more while all the "Assyrians" have been able to do is produce a Fred Aprim or two. There is also another difference between Jews and these "Assyrian Nationalist". There are numerous Jewish scholars and historians who do exactly the same thing that our only historian has done (Dr John Joseph) and that is telling the truth as, in fact, a historian is suppose to do. No doubt that the Jewish historians who tell truth about the Christian Zionist propaganda suffer from criticism and maybe even name calling by some of the real fanatics just as they exist in every community but the point is that many Jewish historians have come out and wrote a great deal about this whole "promised land" myth and everything else.

What is more funny is that their so called holy scripture(Bible) is quoted as "proof" for the ethnic cleansing and other crimes that have taken place in Palestine in the last 50 years or so yet that same scripture is ignored in everything else. Apart from the few verse, which are not very clear and can easily be interpreted in any way as one would want to, the same books are ignored when it comes to everything else in the life of the Jew or even the Christian. That is such hypocrisy to do that with any book. It is interesting though that we have perhaps only one historian among us that writes about our Nestorian/Syriac/Chaldean history and he is found with such hostilities by those who prefer to listen to their own family prejudices and take the words of failed engineers or real estate agents, yet sometimes even taxi cap drivers. Anything works as proof for these people so long as it agrees with their opinions even if the person is not trustworthy or something is not even true.

It's amazing that there are so many fair minded people among the Jewish people yet we can only find one historian among us who actually went to university, majored in that field and is well known and reliable. Besides the one honorable historian we have, there are a few like Pancho and others who were raised with the same prejudices, have no reason to go against our own people except that our conscience won't allow us to just sit quiet while these fanatics lie, betray their countries of origin and try to be clever by using a name that hasn't much to do with them in order take a cheap shot. They are too lazy to go to school like Tariq Aziz, Donny George and many others or like the Jewish people who work hard but they'll rather live on welfare, drive caps and at the end of the day blame all their failures on Muslims or Arabs. But these same people didn't do anything before the Arabs conquered Mesopotamia and they haven't done much since they have been in their "diaspora", another word that they misuse without care.
