..."whatever he is...he is ASSYRIAN" (well, Syrian really, but you get the picture).

That comment is made often in this community. It usually means ignore all faults, because whatever they are or however many, he is ASSYRIAN. Like that makes up for everything.....

Mothers say that to daughters and so do fathers....they mean even if Ashur is a drunken slob who will beat you when sober, accept him for he is ASSYRIAN!

Unfortunately this is also said when dear little Sargon blows his piano recital...or drops the ball....or can't add 2+2 without crying....no matter what his failings and incompetence, overlook them all because he or she is ASSYRIAN!

And guess what kind of people that has produced for this community? You guessed it...the kind you see writing politiqs and using logiquiceek...the kinds of heroes and "writers" and, god help us, "thinkers" we peoduce...no one ever held them to any sort of standard of excellence, because that's HARD...if they did, maybe it showed the little hairy dear wasn't LOVED or cherished...as an ASSYRIAN!

I love my children...I want them to be the best they can be...I could give a shit for their ethnic heritage or nationality...at the least they shouldn't be a DISGRACE to it!...you'd think.

Who is proud of Taco's performance except maybe his parents? And that's the problem with most Assyrian families...they make a big deal out of the small stuff and let the rest go by.
