...the following paragraph was lifted from the same article though not written by the same man...it would seem to directly contradict his earlier claim..... "This startling discovery very nearly fell through the cracks. The translated tablet is one among hundreds excavated in the 19th century, with archaeologists and anthropologists working tirelessly for a hundred years, trying to decode them." ..."working for a HUNDRED YEARS trying to decode them..." That's about right...that's how long it took to finally decipher the Akkadian/cuneiform texts. If "thousands of documents" had been translated into Aramaic by the ancient Assyrians, before their fall, then why take 100 years...why not just get any Nestorian who could read Aramaic to decipher them? ...it's Maggie again, using whatever legitimate knowledge she can dredge as the base on which she can grow her fantasies....this fantasy is that ancient Assyrians translated thousands of documents into Aramaic so we "would know all that history". We knew shit, till the Euros came...and then we've been mostly eating it ever since. --------------------- |
