...a college professor leading a classroom discussion of the campus murders was fired from his job for pointing a marker pen at some students and saying, "Bang". There...I feel safer already. No doubt he was a liberal professor anyway. It's odd that while it's okay for Americans to watch hours of "entertainment" featuring every sort of imaginable crime nightly for all their lives...a college professor is deemed a threat for using that one word with that one gesture. American culture is riddled with criminal messages, glory and gore...but, since great gobs of money are made off of it...no one wants to pull the plug or even dilute the message a little. What we have is a culture destroying itself, while at the same time seeing as a "threat", not its own behavior, but actions taken by a few people who "threaten" its VERSION of itself... --------------------- |
