...some guy is starting yet another movement....I think this one is the "Assyrian National Bowel Movement"...or should be soon. Oddly enough, however, there was a thoughtful critique, which actually survived...in response to which Maggie immediately butted in to say "hands off" and let´s not speak in English because people will "know"....here´s the comment... Excusez Moi Mademoiselle (Excuse me Madam) if you start defending the Activists and those that tamper with Assyrian National issues then you too have to be accountable. I rather have a direct response from Ashur than someone who covers him up. A.G took upon himself to be an Activist and Founder of a movement and it is up to him to defend himself and not hide behind skirts.Yassir Arafat did not do it. Chee Gevara did not do it and Ang Su Kyi is not doing it. Why is AG so special? Is it because he is Assyrian and we have to bend to any Assyrian to please him regardless of the consequences? I applaud Ashur for taking the initiative but he has to follow it up and take responsibility. Ashur did not speak in Assyrian for Assyrians to understand. Most of his words were in Arabic with Lebanese dialect and none of our Turkish, Iranian or younger generation in Diaspora of Assyrian origin understood a word of what he said. It is unfortunate but it is a fact. Today our Assyrian generation can only converse in English and if our “dirty laundry” is spread on public forums, so be it. What you mean “to keep it for ourselves”. How long you are going to keep it under the carpet? This movement as I see it, is aimed at the Assyrian of Iraq, and I hope it is against the current government,WITHOUT PROVOCATION. and not the people of Iraq. People of Iraq are suffering more than the Assyrians, let us console the whole citizens without prejudice and pray for a government that treats all people equally and not ethnically. I, as an Assyrian do not wish to be better than a Sheie, Sunnie, Wahabie or Kurdish but a loyal Iraqi. That is what Iraq needs now and Assyrians MUST realize and recognize this fact and assimilate. It is hard, I know, but it is the only way. So to AG I say just butt out and stop branding the current government as Terrorists to please your Syrian counterparts. I have no problem congratulating Ashur on his wedding engagement and may Ashuriel bless both the Bride and the Groom. ASSYRIA IS NOT ABOUT INDIVIDUAS BUT ABOUT PEOPLE ...this fellow actually shows some concern for the PEOPLE of Iraq...all of them and not just assyrians....and he cautions against acts of sedition...AND insists that all Iraqis must be loyal Iraqis FIRST! How refreshing. --------------------- |
