I found this on the mesopotamia forum and it is supposed to be an advice for the "Assyrian nation". Here it goes:

"GOALS FOR 2010-SAVE OUR ASSYRIAN NATION!"

"Dear friends,

First of all, I’d like to wish all of you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year. Most of us agree that the last few years were very difficult for our Nation everywhere, whether in Iraq where our people suffered a great deal and continue to do so or the refugees in Syria, Jordan and other countries and regretfully the situation with our people in diaspora where we continue to HUMILIATE one another on public display.

My fellow Assyrians, I’ve said this before and will say it again, we need to re-evaluate our situation VERY CAREFULLY in 2010 and be conscious about our future more than ever. Please, the last few years were the darkest years for our nation and if we continue at this rate, we will not only destroy our hope for a piece of land where we can call home, but we will destroy our own existence (Language, heritage etc.) and we’re melting very slowly. Keep in mind, it’s easy for me to sit behind my computer and at the comfort of my home and kick few ideas around and try to force it on our people, but the real work is in Iraq (Bet-Nahrain). We in diaspora have the right to voice our concerns about our people in Iraq and try to spread awareness so the Americans and others in Europe, Australia etc. can hear our heartbreaking stories of how much our people have endured after the liberation of Iraq. Therefore, I plead with you to rethink your approach and try a new strategy for 2010 to restore order within our nation for the sake of our suffering people in Bet-Nahrain, Iraq, the refugees outside of Iraq and our younger generation our future.
Please remember, we all have an opinion and it’s hard enough to have two people agree on one thing, even at home we sometimes have conflicts with our families, but that doesn’t mean we hate one another and we won’t find a way to try and come together at the end. Therefore, for this year, let’s start with a few simple goals and build on them for the upcoming years, this is just my ideas, if you have more, please share them with RESPECT and BE PART OF THE SOLUTION, not part of the problem, so keep that mind too. Here are some goals for 2010:

1- Forgive one another if we call ourselves true Christians
2- MAKE PEACE with one another
3- Completely stop disgracing one another on public forums
4- If you disagree with someone, talk to him/her respectfully!
5- Empower your YOUTH, our future generation

Above are the VERY basic goals that seem to have disappeared from our nation. That’s why we have all this tension, hatred, grudge, animosity and the bad vibes surrounding our nation. These bad vibes are sucking the life out of this nation and killing it slowly without us realizing it. Please have a long-term vision and look at the big picture, not just the next few days, months, years etc. Look at the entire picture and understand that without restoring peace in our nation, it’s very difficult to survive. So, think about it, our existence is at stake, not our personal egos. Please make peace and lets work together in harmony.

God bless you all and bless our beloved Assyrian nation."

It is the usual nonsense and the one that caught my eye is about Assyrians is this:

I guess this person thinks telling heartbreaking stories will get them wht they need. Black Americans have heartbreaking stories too and I see their struggle for myself yet no one helps them. Native Americans, Aboriginees, etc have heart breaking stories too because of Christians but the world must help a few Christians in Iraq who suffered less than the Muslims. It was Christian nations who waged a war on innocent people and the Christians from that country, not all but many, supported this and saw as yet another "golden opportunity". It is as if all the previous "golden opportunities" were successful that these people just don't learn. It would at least be a better case if they could even show us when they were killed just for being christian or forcefully converted to Islam. it also be nice if they could show a real case of persecution and not prosecution. They get pissed and feel insulted when we demand proof or challenge. it is as if they have provided tons of evidence when in reality all they have are their bigoted opinions and their hatred presented as "solid facts".

This forum is open 24/7 and for many years yet not one has come forward and proven us wrong. I challenge and invite almost daily and all i get is either my mother cursed and I am immediately blocked after that.
