..over at the Magpie's someone called "ninos"....posted a longish article about how the Ford Foundation and the CIA fund programs which further American imperial designs...like the "liberation" of Iraq....I guess. Which all of these putzes bought into when it pleased them to think the Power Elite would GIVE them an assyria...now that they got Kurdistan instead, they're understandably pissed at Power Elites.

There is truth in the claim, of course...all sorts of corporations and their foundations are determined to maintian their power base..why wouldn't they be?

But to try to link Dr Joseph or, recently, Professor Hitti to these nefarious designs of American Imperial machinations...is whacky.

No one has yet posted what the threat to American corporate interests are if "assyrians unite". Does anyone really think that if Dadeeshoo, and Magpie and John Nimrod, and every other "leader" plus all the clubs, bingo halls and churches UNITE...American corporate interests will TREMBLE?

History and contemporary experience tells us a different story. At a time when government over-funding of cultural activities by Washington is suspect, the FF fulfills a very important role in projecting U.S. cultural policies as an apparently "private" non-political philanthropic organization. The ties between the top officials of the FF and the U.S. government are explicit and continuing. A review of recently funded projects reveals that the FF has never funded any major project that contravenes U.S. policy.

....so? What have Dr Joseph and professor Hitti contributed to any of this? How has their work benefitted the CIA..or Ford Foundation? It would seem to be the case that their "nationalist" bullshit and their "give me back assyria" was the CIA PLOT...because they helped validate what American corporations wanted to do in Iraq...while Dr Joseph's research and highly regarded book have taken AWAY that bogus claim...thereby making it harder to lend an "Assyrian" identity to this blatant land-grab.

In the current period of a major U.S. military-political offensive, Washington has posed the issue as "terrorism or democracy," just as during the Cold War it posed the question as "Communism or Democracy." In both instances the Empire recruited and funded "front organizations, intellectuals and journalists to attack its anti-imperialist adversaries and neutralize its democratic critics. The Ford Foundation is well situated to replay its role as collaborator to cover for the New Cultural Cold War.

...Dr Joseph would hardly be one of these recruits...for he has "attacked" if you want to get dramatic, the very disguise these Christians have used to HELP the CIA and American military in their war against the Iraqi people.

...besides..isn't the author of this article merely another "sagent" of the Power Elite? Did he give himself a doctorate, or did he get one from a university funded by the POWER ELITE? Has he been shelling peas to earn his living or teaching at another school run by the POWER ELITE?

These dweebs always "reason" like this...the same as when they stand in front of an Assyrian ruin and say, "that's MY ruin". They find articles discussing legitimate concerns about corporate funding for favorable reviews and "news"..and then make the leap of saying, "this proves that Dr Joseph is working for them...because I said so".

THEY are the ones sifting through "professors" and "professionals" to find anyone who seems favorable to THEIR point of view...without regard to facts...just what suits THEM. When that doesn't turn up anyone useful, they go to making dentists and scientists and doctors out of each other...just like the CIA would do. If the CIA was really really stupid.

..if the CIA is fearful...why didn't they send "agents" to block the installation of the Ashurbanipal Monument...or dissuade the Chicago Arts Council from approving the Shumirum Monument? It would have been easy to do...all they had to do was have agents say the sculpture was "lacking in artistic merit"...and that would have been all...bye bye.

Why allow these monuments to go up in major cities if you're worried about these assholes "uniting"? Oddly enough it wasn't an Arab, Kurd or Turk OR CIA agent who blocked the Shumirum...and tried to derail the Ashurbanipal..it was "assyrians"..like Aryan Ishaya...and Nimrod who did!
