It just went underground.

Whites allowed a few Blacks to enter their world but always, as OJ found out, on trial and only as an exception...and that wasn't because they like Blacks all of a sudden but it was the best way to diffuse the growing anger and violence of the 60s and 70s when cities went up in flames.

It helped keep racism alive to hire a few Blacks and pay them good salaries and fool them into thinking they had made some real advance....for one thing whites could always point out that one Black news anchor or doctor or even president and say..."what do you mean racism....isn't the president BLACK...aren't there Black teachers and lawyers and, best of all, Black police"...are you people NEVER satisfied?"...so that now ingratitude could be added to the burdens Black Americans already faced.

Obama is a smart, decent, even good man but he's been totally bought by the white establishment...a white president could have done much more for Blacks because it would have been seen as "noblesse oblige"...the Master doing favors for the Black servant, what a marvelous thing...but if a Black president or governor works for Blacks, he'll bee seen as showing favoritism, of benefiting Blacks, "his kind", over whites...same will happen with Hillary...she'll have to be careful not to be seen as favoring women over men even though the entire country was set up and is run to this day for the benefit of men, white men. Still, every white male has a ready excuse for why he didn;t succeed..."it's those damn...........you fill in the space. And, of course, Obama had to do even more than Bush did to prove he "loves America"....more deportations, more wars, more cuts to social services, more Pentagon waste, more more more because he's playing by the white man's rules. Obama's greatest legacy will be that he brought racism out into the open.
