...he admits what everyone knows; that in the last 30 years the wealthy have done very very well while everyone else has done worse and worse....in truth the middle and lower classes have been sacrificing and sacrificing...most of the new wealth of the few at the top hasn't come from any inventions or initiative but from the savings they got when they fired people, took jobs overseas, got rid of medical benefits, retirement, overtime etc. While they were getting all that wealth from the pockets of the rest of us, the rest of us naturally suffered and sacrificed enough! What sacrifice did the wealthy suffer in that same time? Did they "suffer wealth"? The issue now shouldn't be equal sacrifice, since we've been doing more than our fair share, it should be: let THEM sacrifice, for a change. Shared sacrifice means they BEGIN to sacrifice, a little, and they can well afford it, but for us it means we go ON sacrificing as medicaid and unemployment insurance and so many other programs, which we need but they don't, get cut and cut and cut. We sacrificed already but are asked to go on sacrificing, while the wealthiest just begin to sacrifice, and sacrifice what they can well afford without hurting them in the slightest....how is that fair? --------------------- |
