You'll be talking along with someone bright and knowledgeable and all of a sudden he's howl at the moon, from out of nowhere he'll talk about miracles and Jesus raising the dead and how he'll go live on a cloud when he dies because some Jew promised him this and he KNOWS it's true....and you wonder..."what the hell"? We've grown up in this atmosphere and so come to accept that a person can be rational in all other things but also babble nonsense when it comes to his "faith"...and you can imagine how HE would react if someone started telling him about Thor or Zeus, about how Minerva sprang from her father Zues's forehead and how the world exists on the back of a turtle...why, your bright Christian would nod and wink and say "look at THIS fool"...never thinking for one moment that he is as a big a fool as the other fellow. Our "faith" in our assyrianism is along the same lines....just as foolish especially in the mouths of otheriwse rational people. Especially foolish is our belief that things like the Genome project can prove our claims...even someone as otherwise bright as Dr. Joel Elias, who taught molecular biology at UC Berkeley lectured me on how this Genome project would prove we are Assyrians...how could such an educated man make such a foolish statement? It helps, or hurts, that he is also a Christian believer and so has managed to fill his head with crap even as he became a scientist,,,,this is fascinating stuff...how you pull this off. In a National Geographic catalog I find an advert for the Genome Project asking people to sign up and find their genetic "history"...and, this is a new and improved version, not the older one that Dr Elias blubbered about...so, I assume it does its job even better...but here's what it says it can do... "...Geno 2.0 provides a remarkably comprehensive picture of your genetic ancestry going back hundreds, even thousands, of years....Geno 2.0 takes advantage of revolutionary new DNA technology to provide new insights into your past: Discover your REGIONAL GENETIC AFFILIATIONS (emphasis mine)...Learn what percentage of your of your genome is affiliated with specific regions of the world. What surprising connections will you uncover?....Learn if you have Neanderthal or Denisovan ancestry..." All this thing claimed to do was trace your genetic AFFILIATION to a REGION. There is nothing mentioned about tying your DNA to that of ASHURBANIPAL! This study is usefull for those who may not know where their ancestors came from (although we all come from Africa)... But that's not what an accomplished molecular scientist understood...he was SO desperate to find PROOF that he is assyrian, that he imagined this study had anything to do with that...hell, we KNOW we supposedly come from Iraq...and that's all this study could tell us... But, if you're going to believe in miracles and such your mind is already half rotted and so you'd be eager to believe fantasies some more..... --------------------- |
