...they posted a biography of the dentist, someone thought was a scientist instead...very impressive....she can be a dentist..but she too is NOT any kind of historian. ...we're left wondering, since they rushed this resume to us, why they haven't been able to do the same with "dr ashuraya"...or that "writer" Christopher Baumer? if they didn't say, "we don't have to show ANYTHING", where the dentist is concerned but rushed out to get us the information,,,,how come the continuing silence about the other two? here tis: In Response To: To: SOS (Dr Simon Ashuraya) Dolphine Oda, BDS, MSc http://www.dental.washington.edu/departments/oralsurgery/faculty/oda.htm Professor Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Dolphine Oda is the Professor of Oral Pathology in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Oda is on the medical staff at University of Washington Medical Center and Harborview Medical Center; she is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Francisco Marroquin in Guatemala. Dr. Oda's main commitment is to patient care through the biopsy service in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She works efficiently to give patients the best service possible. Dr. Oda's research is in the field of molecular changes in oral carcinogenesis. She has over 60 papers published in referred journals, primarily in this field. One of Dr. Oda's research awards was an exchange professorship at the University of Bergen in Norway in the year 2000, where she studied molecular and genetic changes in oral cancer from developing and developed countries including the United States, Norway, and Sudan. Although biopsy service and research occupy a significant portion of her time, teaching is her passion. She has taught students of all ages - from elementary schoolers to pathology residents - with enthusiasm and zeal. To date, she has been honored with 18 teaching awards. She is also technologically up-to-date; she and Dr. Joseph Chasteen of the Department of Oral Medicine have developed five Oral Pathology teaching websites, one of which won third place in the country (2002 ADEA Educational Computing in Dentistry Competition). Dr. Oda is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and she holds Washington oral pathology and dental licenses. She is also a member of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, the American Association for Dental Research, the International Association for Dental Research-Experimental Pathology Group, the International Association of Oral Pathologists, and the United States Canadian Academy of Pathology. Dr. Oda and her husband George Bet-Shlimon are blessed with two children, Arbella and Sargon. She enjoys close family ties and cooking dinner for her extended family and friends.
