...contrary to Christian propaganda and denial(like Hitler was not Christian), remember that the pagan Romans hardly ever persecuted Christians..not until they truned Christian themselves and discovered the "real" god...after which they killed hundreds of thousands of people who had a different take on the religion from their approved version... also...the coming of the Arabs SAVED Christianity in BetNahrain. Had the Eastern Romans or Rome conquered that region they put have put all those "heresies" to the sword, if not forcibly converted them....Muhammad SAVED Nestorians and Jacobites and Copts....all of which were considerd enemies of Roma church....so from the very beginning Islam protected and became a haven for Christians and Jews, of course....if that changed at all it came about through the Crusades and all manner of attacks and abuses from then on. --------------------- |
