...between the religious and non-religious mind...especially of those who thrive on notions of martyrdom:specifically our own people.

Take the claim of Christian persecution in Iraq...the bombing of churches, kidnap-for-ransom etc. A more open mind would ask when these things began...if they always happened or if they started at a particular time under unusual circumstances...the religious mind wont bother but will immediately jump to the self-serving explanation that "hatred of Christians" is behind it all.

But, before the war declared against the innocent people of Iraq by Christian nations, no churches OR mosques were being bombed...and no Christian OR Muslim was kidnapped for money.

If our Christians can show that they experienced these same things before the war, then they might have a valid claim.

But these things all began WITH the war and as a result OF the war...this can be proven very easily...but our people prefer their opinions to evidence...and in their opinion they have been persecuted since the 7th century and they don't need any evidence or proof...it's enough that's it's their opinion and, as such, is as valid as your "opinion", even though your's is based on facts and dates and events and all manner of solid evidence.

Doesn't matter to them. They FEEL persecuted because it's the best, most self-serving, explanation they can muster as to why their numbers dwindled and their position erroded in Muslim society...it was always "their" fault...never the fault of Christianity which sanctions and approves of attacks against innocent Muslim children and nations.
