I'm tired of hearing this. After the attack on Grenada Reagan handed out medals to every soldier who stumbled ashore, another example of Fascism, which is the business of fooling people into undoing themselves....it was a PR war and medals were used as a marketing tool, to "boost" patriotism, like you would boost sales by offering some "special". Actual medal winners were so disgusted they sent back their medals, in droves, in protest and this market driven cheapening of their medals, actually earned under combat conditions. We've been swamped with the same sort of market-driven "heroism". Every soldier is a "HERO"....the word has lost all meaning....now, you're a hero if you can't find a real job, join the military and go and kill civilians in a private-market war. Even the "threat" was a manufactured product. Palestinians simply wanted to raise their children and enjoy their families, instead they've been turned into "terrorists" by the United States because that is good for business. In Reagan's favorite movie "Red Dawn", Soviet soldiers occupy America and our teenagers do battle against this invasion, and they are heroes, not terrorists, well, to the Russians they are terrorists....Muslims fighting US occupation were the heroes, not those occupying their country. We're supposed to be too afraid to come out and say the the Emperor's heroes aren't...but the simple truth is that our military have not behaved heroically at all....they followed orders, as they most often do....we blame the Germans for obeying orders even against Humanity...but we ourselves are just as abject. Our marketeers have even managed to besmirch the Nuremberg Trials....that's some business. --------------------- |
