...okay, he got a lot wrong and psychiatry never should have been handed over to men of medicine, or scientists...it should have remained with poets and story-tellers and dream interpreters, where it had been for years before medicine discovered it...the idea that early childhood development is of utmost importance for understanding the adult is a most valid field...but in America that became a joke..."oh sure, your MOTHER was mean to you and that's why you won't get a job"...etc.

America, good old business-oriented, money-making, you-are-a-cog-in-a-great-machine, America had no time to indulge "navel-gazing"...so what started out as an attempt to understand each individual AS an individual, quickly became an exercise in forcing round pegs into square holes, because "the show must go on"...so it quickly was badly handled until turned into a joke....

For the last 30 years at least psychiatry has become nothing more than seeking to "balance" the mind with drugs that are somehow "lacking" in "normal" brains....hence all the legal drugs that flooded the market plus the belief, on no factual basis, that drugs can make things right with the brain...drugs and "watching" young kids for signs of "maladjustment"...as if adjusting to this sort of culture will make you healthy....adjusting to declaring war on primitive or weaker people, for no good reason at all, and then calling soldiers "heroes" who fight in neighborhoods against fathers and mothers and children, over THERE.

This latest American "hero", who's real crime was killing our own kids instead of some "terror kids", chose to pick on young children the way America chooses to beat up weaker people...he didn't think of going up against his own size just like America doesn't....perhaps too the fact that his mother worked at the same school and maybe showed more interest in "her kids" than HER kid, made him want to strike back at the kids who were "more important" to her than he felt he was...no one really knows, but if America thinks it can solve this problem by simply getting rid of guns, or prescribing even more drugs for "maladjusted" kids, as if American adults know what is and what is not "adjusted", they will be in for a rude awakening.

Despairing parents, who themselves had lousy childhoods, have turned to Jesus as a magic cure...as if by simply invoking his name, of praying and singing they've found a short-cut to "good behavior" and "moral teaching" (even while they slaughter innocent children around the globe)are creating even more hostility and dysfunction and especially anger, deep, smoldering anger in their children..not to mention a habit of hypocrisy...none of which can help mental health.

Okay, Freud misinterpreted a lot...for instance he thought his Oedipus and Elektra Complexes revealed secret desires for sex with a parent when in reality he uncovered a subculture of sex with KIDS that was rife in repressed Europe...as we've since seen it goes on all around the world....but at least he popularized the idea that childhood MATTERS. America became afraid of what it would ultimately mean if you actually took kids seriously, if you discovered that this culture especially was CREATING dysfunction...if the finger was more properly to be pointed at the society as a whole rather than its children....so they turned it around into YOU are the problem, not us, and psychiatry is only valid when it finds some way, some sneaky way, to lay the whole thing at your feet, to make YOU "responsible" while shirking all responsibility itself...naturally this, in time, made people think that psychiatry was silly and pointless, which is what it was made into by the very medical schools and universities and certifying boards who quickly took it over and made a joke out of it and defused it...besides, there's a lot more money in drugs and Phrama-bullshit...and making money is, after all, THE American way.

It's them chickens, baby...it's them Karma-chickens coming home to roost.
