Christians don't respect other faiths and they have had no problem destroying other buildings of worship or turning them into churches. Muslims, on the other hand, have always respected others and it is prohibited to destroy their buildings of worship. That is why Muslims, if anything have always bought buildings, churches, temples etc and then turned them into mosques. In Syria the Muslims used to share a the St John's church and pay rent money and it wasn't until after they purchased the church that it was converted into a mosque. The Christians went on to built a bigger church with the money. The only incidents I know of are whe the civil war was going in in former Yugoslavia where Orthodox churches were attacked in retaliation by Bosnians because the Serbs had attacked mosques. Not one Catholic church was attacked because they were not fighting with the Croatians. This proves that it wasn't hate but rather anger and retaliation. These are the only cases in which attacks can be found and it is usually done by the less religious who are only worried about culture or pride. I know Muslims who don't practice nor care for religion but they will get angered if one insults Islam or the prophet. They may drink, smoke, fornicate, etc but will not tolerate such acts. --------------------- |
