...there is no accepted historical evidence that there was a massacre or genocide of Assyrians in Turkey during the First World War. There are a lot of priests and taxi drivers who claim there was....but anecdotal comments or memories are not facts...and priests lie as does the church. (Interesting though how, despite reams of hard evidence, Christians deny there ever was a Holocaust...itīs as if they refuse to believe ugly truths about themselves while slandering the innocent with their own, well proven, dirt) No historian can proclaim something based soley on his beliefs...or what he heard from his grandma...neither can religious people be trusted...after all, they believe in ghosts and a Jewish zombie...all of their "beliefs" are based on nothing more than on what they WANT to believe. Some children grow up believing in one religion and others believe in other religions...and there isnīt a shred of evidence to back any of them up...well, "we donīt need evidence to BELIEVE", they say, " it is a matter of FAITH"...all well and good...for church and synagogue and mosque and such...but not for courts of Law..not for universities and certainly not for advanced degrees. Whatever Assyrians say about Turks is prejudiced and tainted by their hatred of Islam, plus the idea that somehow Islam, and Arabs, "robbed" them of some supposed heritage. Historians do not credit tales of any genocide in Turkey...people of faith BELIEVE it. You cannot debate rationally over factual matters with people who believe in angels and demons and who display thriteen elbows of John the Baptist in their temples...and ALL from his left arm!!! --------------------- |
