...I find myself able to stay awake when listening to him...and it's a good thing he has such interesting and provocative things to say because if he was a high school algebra teacher I would have checked out of his class the first day.

One of the interesting things he said about Christianity was that for its first 300 years it was the religion of the poor and marginalized, the powerless and oppressed and therein was its attraction to the masses of poor and slaves...but, when Constantine made it the religion of the Empire, it was transformed into the religion on the powerful, the wealthy, the torturers and conquerors and enslavers, and it's been that way ever since.

It pays lip service to the poor, throws some crumbs of wealth their way, but it has provided support for every Fascism and Empire ever known.
