...it really needed saying. It's so odd to watch these "intellectuals" foam at the brain where Islam is concerned. Don't they see that this is just garden-variety anti-Semitism all over again? For centuries Christians really believed they had reasons to fear the power of Judaism...and got themselves worked into a lather of hatred that finally played out in the Holocaust. Don't they see the obvious parallels?

If people who are Muslim have anger towards the United States and other Western Powers it is for good reason....their religion has nothing to do with it.

The United States did not declare war on Japan because of its Christian faith....we did so because we were ATTACKED....and we didn't declare war on them because of their Shinto religion either...and they didn't attack us because of THEIR faith, or ours...they attacked us because of WAR.

The West has been attacking Muslim countries, specifically, for decades now...and they finally had ENOUGH! If anything they have been way too patient and moderate...after 9/11 we struck out at the wrong people and didn't much care so pleased were to hit SOMEONE...Muslims, on the other hand, waited and waited and took and took and when they finally struck back they knew EXACTLY whom to target, even which two buildings made the best statement.

I think as much as Hitchens, Dawkins and Harris etc., may despise all religions, they love what Christian culture has given them and likewise hate what they think they know of Islamic culture, and hence feel free to hate Islamic religion. My esteem for these people, and Stewart and Maher, falls badly whenever they touch on Islam....like many topics which Repubs would do well to leave alone, Islam is one these fellows should never discuss...it diminishes them so. Every time I hear them go on about Islam I imagine I'm hearing what an anti-Jew sounded like when he too was convinced that Judaism was the enemy of Christian culture...and what they ultimately did to "protect" from it...and we have way too much of this "protection racket" going now to add to it.
