.....let's say you believed this...and found ONE BOOK (and a grandmother) that backed you up...I don't care who it was written by...Einstein hisself. If that was the ONLY book you could find affirming that the world was indeed flat....could you claim victory? Would the existence of that one book PROVE the earth was flat, in the face of all the books and research which proves it isn't? Of course not.

If it were true that assyrians had survived through the ages AS assyrians...and all the bullshit we put out about how they all turned Christian at the appearance of Mar Toma, or whichever it was...or that the myth of Abgar was true and he converted us all (to Judaism, by the way, for there were no "Christians" in Christ's day)....if all of that were true...don't you think libraries and the internet would be FILLED with books and research on such a provocative and fascinating topic?

Where are they?

There are Greeks alive today...are they direct descendants of Plato? No Greek would say so today for fear of being locked up..and none would be so stupid as to claim the Parthenon belonged to HIM, because he was the indigenous Greek...today there are Romans, who live in Rome...you suppose any of them claim direct link to Julius Caesar...or demand the Forum be returned to its "rightful owners"?

The modern Jews claim descent from the ancients, but everyone knows there are Jews of European, white, origin....and that there is hardly any direct linkage between the ancients and moderns...but, the modern Jews ARE demanding "their" homeland...and have gotten it, so we dummies think the same can happen for us...except the modern Jews, whatever their ethnic derivation, remained true to their original religion and customs and in some sense their language too...assyrians did NOT. assyrians turned to a new religion, forsaking the god who made them great and someone else's language, forgetting their own and evrything that went with it....can a Jew claim to be a REAL Jew after he gives up Yahwe...or Moses? Can a Jew become a Christian and still insist he is a Jew? Of course not.

We are not assyrians...no books and no research by serious scholars in THIS field exist to back this up...lots of amateurs, but no actual experts in THIS field....no one has done serious research into our existence..it seems the few amateurs who believe this all start by ACCEPTING the notion, and that's hardly scientific or scholarly...oddly enough only Dr Joseph, one of us no less, bothered to take a real good look at our claims and the historical record...no doubt he would have LOVED to discover that he WAS an Assyrian...but the man has personal integrity, also he makes his own achievements and does not wish to dress himself in borrowed or stolen robes...and he is a scholar, TRAINED in a discipline, in academic settings to explore these kinds of things, taking the evidence where it leads him...you can bet if Toto or Aprim or Donabed found conclusive proof that they were NOT assyrians...they'd bury it and never mention a word...so dishonest and pathetic are they....but not Joseph. He followed the trail to wherever it would lead. THAT's a scholar...not a propagandist like the others!
