...the dynamic is interesting...everyone in the country knows that 85 year-old, frail, white-as-white-can-be old lady who was strip-searched by TSA at an airport wasn't going to have anything on her...just as we all know 6 year-old girls, not boys, but girls, also don't have bombs in their underwear. Even those conducting the searches knew damn well they weren't going to find anything...and the director and every other official knew what the entire country was thinking..."get the ARAB-looking guy, fer chrissakes!"... ...this is an official "fuck-you" to the nation and our Constitution...telling us that if we're going to be so unreasonable as to object to racial-profiling, then this is the result...these indignities and stupidities are what we can expect, in the name of "fairness" and that as soon as we come to our senses, we white folks, and demand that only "those" people who are obviously guilty are treated so, they will leave US alone. ...but until a grandmother or little girl takes down an airplane, I feel just fine and safe letting all such persons go unmolested....and the TSA knows this...but that's the whole point: to punish us for demanding our Laws be carried out fairly. But, we can also insist they be carried out WISELY. ...I'll never object if they strip-search any white cracker with a blonde crew-cut and a love of guns who spouts anti-government rhetoric or belongs to the NRA...like Timothy McVey, for instance....or how about anyone who worked for the CIA or Blackwater? TSA isn't being fair and objective...they are using that cover to pick on those the rest of us clearly see as poor subjects for such treatment and from whom we know we have nothing to fear...only as a punishment for being sticklers about Constitutional guarantees.....if we approve profiling, they'll leave us alone, if not, they have to continue "protecting us". --------------------- |
