...if you have a monarchy, or dictatorship you already have Fascism...it sort of comes with the territory for the rich and wealthy are in control anyway.

Fascism come to birth with democracy....they go hand in hand because the wealthy in a democracy are just as concerned with gaining more and more wealth...so the issue becomes: how do you get the people to vote for laws that make the wealthy wealthier? And, in an advanced capitalist state where the people are already drowning in junk and wages are lower and lower, so that the wealthy can not get wealthier, now that no new junk will make them so, except they "steal" from the people....the challenge of democracy becomes..."How do you trick people into voting for YOUR interests which are, by definition, against their own?

The answer lies in media control and of course advertising....selling people not only things they don;t need but things which actually cause them harm, like cigarettes and unregulated "medicines".

People have to be sold on Fascism....so they'll buy it "freely"...since you can't just impose harsh economic conditions in a supposed democracy, you have to get the people to vote them in....Fascism is the flip-side of Democracy....it was never needed when there was no democracy...Fascism isn't JUST control by the business class...it's the propaganda apparatus in a "free democracy" which allows the wealthy to trick the dumb bastards.

Without Goebbels there would have been no Nazi Party...but in 1933 the Nazis had to force their rule onto the public,once they were voted in, because that kind of propaganda was new...today, after decades of teevee advertising, people are primed to be lied to...hell, we expect it....we've never been more ready to embrace Fascism than we are today, or at least to accept the MEANS by which Fascism can be made to look preferable.
